For the second consecutive year, the grade five students at Shanghai Community International School SCIS in Pudong have helped SCCA by selling calendars to family and friends. SCIS supports Global and Community Appreciation as part of their curriculum. The grade 5 students have done an outstanding job helping and supporting SCAA to fulfill its mission. Thank you SCIS Grade 5 “The Fifity-Fives” for your continued support.

Who is SCAA? SCAA is the Second Chance Animal Aid, founded in 2005 by Ms. Carol Wolfson. SCAA is committed to protecting and improving the health and welfare of poor, abandoned pets. SCAA’s mission is to raise funding to support local animal welfare projects and organizations that seek to upgrade their facilities and services to Western standards and to provide adequate care for pet animals in need. SCAA is also dedicated to pet animal population control, pet adoption and reducing the problem of pet abandonment. SCAA recognizes the critical need to enhance public awareness and understanding of such issues as general pet care training, spaying /neutering, disease prevention and animal behavior that will strengthen the human-animal relationship. Between October and December, the Fifty Fives sold around 200 calendars at 50 RMB each. Grade 5 at SCIS Pudong raised over 10,000 RMB for SCAA. The money Grade 5 raised will be used to save many stray and abandoned cats and dogs. Donations given by community members will ensure that the animals receive good medical care, food, toys and other necessities. SCAA looks after these animals until they are eventually adopted by loving families. The Fifty Fives are proud to help SCAA in anyway possible.
